The Sick, The Exhausted and Angry

Inspiring City

Please, listen. We are drowning.

Healthcare workers all over the country are drowning under the weight of new surges of Covid patients.  Our hospitals are filling up.  There are fewer and fewer beds to put those critically sick with Covid and other non-Covid emergency patents.

I fear it’s eventually going to come down to a point where doctors and nurses are going to have to make a choice oh how sick is sick enough to get a remaining bed.  Is it gonna be the 50-year old patient who just had a major heart attack or a stroke? Or is it gonna be the 30-something-year old that has Covid and needs a ventilator?

These are choices we shouldn’t have to make.  These are choices that could be totally prevented.

We have vaccines available to fight to spread of Covid-19.  But there aren’t enough people taking them to flatten this new curve and help create herb immunity in our communities.

This is coming from someone who is a healthcare worker, who has pre-existing breathing conditions, who has had Covid and the vaccine.  My pre-existing breathing problems are have gotten significantly worse since I had Covid during the summer of 2020.  I urge anyone and everyone reading this to please, please for the love of everything you hold dear, get the vaccine!!

We are overwhelmed by the sick, who are largely unvaccinated.  We are exhausted from working to our limits being stretched to their absolute limits.  And we are angry that so, so many people have blatantly disregarded the advice and warnings from specialists who have dedicated their entire lives to helping to save lives; forgotten what we all went through last year, and turned a blind eye to the numerous deaths that have continued to pile up.

No matter how sick and tired you might be from wearing masks and lockdowns continuing, we are more sick and tired and seeing people getting sick and dying, who didn’t have to die.

If you have doubts about the vaccine, please talk to your healthcare provider.  They have done more research and dedicated so much to health and vaccine safety than 20 minutes worth of Google searching and Facebook sharing.

Though the vaccines are not 100% effective against Covid-19, it still offers you protection and keeps you from getting critically ill and winding up in the hospital and/or ventilator. Even in the rare occurrence that someone does contract Covid after being fully vaccinated, the outcome is worlds better than not being vaccinated at all.
