Famed quarterback turned tight end, Tim Tebow, has been released from the Jacksonville Jaguars after one preseason game.
The 34 year old has been apart of football fame since the beginning of the 2010’s with the Denver Broncos. His NCAA career is known to many as being part of the best, if not, greatest team in college football history. While being with the Florida Gators, he would be sharing the field with the likes of Aaron Hernandez, Janoris Jenkins, Joe Haden, Mike and Maurkice Pouncey, and Jordan Reed; all of which are well-known NFL players.
The head coach of the Florida Gators was Urban Meyer, the current head coach of the Jaguars and a fan of Tebow. He was excited to have Tebow as a member of the team, reuniting with a former player and trying to reignite the spark that they had in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s. Their success included an SEC Eastern Division championship and
Sugar Bowl champion.
The excitement around the NFL was heard from many when thinking about what Tebow could still do on the field. The memory of Tebow throwing an 80 yard touchdown to former Broncos receiver, Demaryius Thomas, will always be remembered as his greatest highlight of his NFL career. This overtime touchdown pass was both the last win and playoff appearance for Tebow as a starter.
Tim Tebow being a tight end instead of a quarterback was not enough for the Jaguars to consider him for the regular season. His workouts with the team, the praise from Urban Meyer during training camp, even personal updates of his progress were hyped up for Tim Tebow’s upcoming season. His journey ended in Florida before his career with the Jaguars began.
